What we can explore
- School and peer concerns
- Emotions and family changes
- Growing independence
Support for children
Younger children may show distress through behavior before they can explain it in words. Counseling can provide an age-appropriate way to explore feelings, difficulties at school and changes within the family.
A space for adolescents
Teens may be working through peer relationships, identity, self-esteem, worry or low mood. Having a consistent adult outside their everyday circle can make it easier to talk openly.
Working with families
The therapist will discuss how parents or caregivers are involved and explain privacy and its limits. For young adults, sessions can address increasing independence, work, education and changing relationships.
