What we can explore
- Daily life with a diagnosis
- Routines and coping skills
- Communication with care providers
Looking at life as a whole
Your therapist can explore how symptoms affect routines, relationships and responsibilities, along with the strengths and supports you already have. Treatment needs vary by condition and by person.
Making your care practical
Sessions may focus on noticing patterns, following through with agreed care, managing stress and communicating with the people who support you. The plan is reviewed as your situation changes.
Connecting the parts of care
Some needs require medical or specialist care. Your therapist can discuss appropriate referrals or coordination with your treating providers, with your permission. Counseling does not replace medication management when that is part of your care.
