What we can explore
- Avoidance and unhelpful habits
- Practical coping skills
- Goals you can practice
Looking at the pattern
Together, you can examine what happens before a behavior, what you do and what follows. This can make it easier to understand avoidance, reactive responses or routines that no longer serve you.
Turning goals into actions
Rather than working with a broad goal such as feeling better, sessions can identify a specific behavior you want to change. You may practice a different response, adjust a routine or try a manageable activity between appointments.
Learning from experience
What works for one person may need adjusting for another. Reviewing real examples helps you and your therapist notice progress, address obstacles and refine the plan.
